In what was most likely Eaton’s last dual match of the season they put up a good fight against Centerville Black team. In trying to get prepared for sectional we wanted to get this match made up because we knew they would be strong competition. The match was originally postponed due to rain. It was close. The Perry boys had a tough day and the twins even finished with the same score. Sort of a telekinesis thing. First doubles Branson Ball and Aaron Tolliver started 0-3 In both sets and tried to make it a match but that hole was a little too deep. John Altom and Seth Bristow made easy work of their opponents by good movement and good communication. 2nd singles Andrew Collins had the match of the day. After an unimpressive 1st set he rallied strong in the 2nd set. The 3rd set could have been either players. Andrew stayed mentally strong. After even being up 5-4, then 6-5, then he was down 2-5 in the tiebreaker and he found a way to persevere. Feet, Fight, and Belief. The loss brings the Eagles to 9-7 overall for the season. I’m happy with that. I took a couple of wins off the schedule this season and added some real quality opponents. The Eagles now get ready for sectionals and hope to pull off some upsets.
