Eagles News · Wrestling Finishes 3rd at Districts, Three Advance to State

Eaton High School’s Varsity Wrestling program qualified three athletes and one alternate to the OHSAA Division II State Wrestling Championships this coming week at the Jerome Schottenstein Center on the campus of the Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.

At the OHSAA District Championships held on Friday and Saturday, March 1st and 2nd at Wilmington High School, senior Wade Monebrake (138lb. weight class) and Skyler Straszheim (220lb.) finished in 2nd place. Seth Bowman (285lb.) earned a fourth place medal.  Those finishes qualify Monebrake, Straszheim, and Bowman  to the OHSAA State Championships this weekend. Zac Schmidt’s 5th place finish will make him an alternate for the State Meet. Other Eagle District Participants included: Owen Hewitt, Chris Weadick, Holden Sittloh, KeAnthony Bales, and Logan Chapin.

As a team, Eaton finished in 3rd Place overall at the OHSAA Division II District Championships with a team score of 93.5 points. OHSAA State Team Dual Champion Graham High School finished in 1st Place with an overall score of 270 points followed by Runner Up Chaminade-Julienne (104 points).
