Tyler Gregory of the Eaton High School Boys Swimming team traveled to Canton, Ohio this past week to participate in the OHSAA Division II State Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday and Friday, February 21st and 22nd. The event was held at the C.T. Branin Natatorium on the campus of Canton McKinley High School. Tyler entered the meet tied for 24th in the state for the 50 Yard Freestyle event.
In the preliminary round, Gregory recorded a time of 22.25 and won the first heat of the the event. “It was the greatest sports experience of my life so far” shared Tyler. Unfortunately, his time was not fast enough to advance to the finals on Friday.
Gregory’s time put him at 20th place in the State of Ohio after the preliminaries on Thursday.
“Tyler Gregory surprised us this year. After starting the season not being sure if he’d even be able to swim due to an injury, he came back with determination and drive to have a successful season. Ending the season in 20th place, we are looking forward to seeing what he can accomplish next year,” said Eaton High School Head Coach Kajsa Ruebush.
