Eagles News · Swimming Competes at SWBL Championships


The Eaton High School Boys and Girls Swimming teams concluded their regular season schedule last Saturday, February 2, as they competed in the Southwestern Buckeye League Championships held at Trotwood Madison High School.

The Boys team finished in 4th place overall while the Girls finished in 5th place overall.

Tyler Gregory won the 50 Yard Freestyle and the 100 Yard Freestyle event with times of 22.60 and 51.17 . Aaron Scholl finished in 3rd place in both of those events with times of 24.57 and 53.34.  Nate Crammer (1:00.79) placed 3rd  in the 100 Yard Backstroke. The Boys 200 Freestyle Relay team of Nate Crammer, Justin Liddy, Tyler Gregory, and Aaron Scholl finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:38.86.

On the Girls side, Bekah Honaker placed 2nd (1:05.68) in in the 100 Yard Backstroke and Cari Metz placed 3rd (1:20.07) in the 100 Yard Breaststroke.  The Girls 200 Freestyle Relay team of Bekah Honaker, Cari Metz, Elaina Maynard, and Maddie Haynes also finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:52.78.

The Eagles will move on to their OHSAA Sectional Tournament competition this Friday and Saturday, February 8th and 9th. The OHSAA Boys Division II Sectional will be held on Friday, February 8 at the Washington Township Recreation Center beginning at 6:30pm.  The Girls OHSAA Division II Sectional will also take place at the WTRC on Saturday, February 9  beginning at 10:00am.
