2nd doubles John Altom and Matthew Wright won against Hannah Withers and Alex Sims 7-5,6-3.
Eaton entered the match knowing that it was going to be challenge. Eaton for the first time ever began the week ranked as the #10 Division 2 team in the Miami Valley Tennis Coaches Association Poll. And Dayton Christian was ranked 8th. To compound the challenge even further, Eaton was missing one of their normal 1st doubles players. Sophomore Matthew Wright stepped up from JV and filled in on 2nd doubles as Eaton had to adjust their usual lineup. 3rd singles and both doubles teams came up with the first 3 key wins for the Eagles sealing the match. Meanwhile Brad Kramer avenged a very tough loss from the same opponent in last year’s match. He was down in the second set but managed to get it to a tie breaker where he won 7-4, giving Eaton it’s 4th court. Breven Perry played very well but was up against a formidable opponent. Playing stronger opponents will help him immensely in the long run.
