Multiple Teams · Wrestling Wins 6th Consecutive SWBL Title

The Eaton High School Varsity Wrestling team recently competed in the Southwestern Buckeye League Championship Tournament held on February 17th and 18th at Madison High School. Once again, the Eagles brought the Championship trophy back to Eaton  as they earned their 6th Championship Title in as many years and the program’s 14th overall.

The Eagles, with a team score of 159.5 outscored all but two teams in both the Southwestern and Buckeye Divisions. Valley View (147.5)  finished 2nd in the Southwestern Division while Milton Union (164) and Preble Shawnee (163) finished in 1st and 2nd place respectively in the Buckeye Division.

Individually, the Eagles were led by senior Coleman Manning who took 1st place in the 132lbs. weight class by pinning Travis Tatum of Preble Shawnee High School in a time of 0:47.

Senior Isaac Ilo took 2nd place honors in the 160lbs. weight class as did sophomore Wade Monebrake (120lbs). Sophomore Chris Weadick took home third place honors (126lbs.) and junior Spencer Reynolds (182lbs.) earned a 4th place finish.

The Eagles will be begin their OHSAA Sectional Tournament competition on Friday and Saturday, February 24 & 25 at Graham High School.
