Intercollegiate Athletic Participation & Eligibility Information

While many athletes have the ultimate goal to continue their athletic career at the collegiate level, the process to get there begins well before an athlete’s senior season. In fact, the planning process should begin as early as a student’s freshman year of high school.

During their freshman year, students should meet with their Guidance Counselor to ensure they are on track to complete the core courses required for participation. Students are also encouraged to register with the NCAA and NAIA Clearinghouses by their sophomore year of high school.

The NCAA and NAIA provide many useful tools and information to help guide students and their parents through the registration and eligibility process. Links to resources from the NCAA and the NAIA can be found on the right side of this page.

Remember: If you’re not sure about something, speak with your Guidance Counselor to ensure all eligibility requirements for intercollegiate athletics are met!
