Cross Country Excels at Eaton Invitational

The Eaton High School Cross Country Program hosted the 45th Annual Eaton Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 19th. The event was once again held at historic Fort St. Clair Park in Eaton, where over 2,000 runners took to the course in one of the premier events in Southwest Ohio.

Both Eaton High School’s Boys and Girls teams put forth impressive performances in their respective Division II races. The Boys finished in 2nd place overall in Division II with a team score of 76 points. The Boys were led by junior Seth Gard who finished in 1st place overall in the race with a time of 16:32.87. Hamilton Badin finished in 1st place in Division II with a team score of 52 points.

On the Girls side, Eaton finished in 4th place overall with a team score of 94 points behind Wyoming (48 points), Monroe (51 points), and Ross (63 points). Sasha Taxter crossed the finish line first for the Eagles (8th overall) in a time of 21:31.67.

In the High School Division I races Hilliard Davidson (Boys – 59 points) and Lebanon (Girls – 52 points) earned top honors while Russia (Boys – 76 points) and Covington (Girls – 56 points) claimed the top spots in Division III.
